Key Stage 2 builds substantially on KS1 foundations, with greater depth, extended writing, and preparation for secondary education.

Fluent reading comprehension, structured extended writing across genres, grammar, punctuation, and spelling (SPaG).

🔢 Mathematics

Four operations with larger numbers, fractions/decimals/percentages, geometry, statistics, and problem-solving/reasoning.

🔬 Science

Systematic investigation across biology, chemistry, and physics topics — states of matter, forces, living things, and Earth & space.

💻 Computing

Programming fundamentals, using technology purposefully, and online safety in more depth.

🌍 Geography & 🏛️ History

In-depth topic study — world geography, significant historical periods and civilisations, source analysis and enquiry skills.

🎨 Art, 🎵 Music & 🛠️ Design Technology

More technical skill-building, project-based creative work, and design/build challenges.

🤸 PE, 🗣️ Foreign Language & PSHE

Team sports and competitive fixtures, continued foreign language study, and personal, social, health & economic education.
